The Five Seasons European Inclusive Arts Project is seeking a Romanian Partner.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a truly life changing project involving artists and participants from 5 European countries. The Five Seasons project is an innovative project bringing together disability focussed arts organisations from the UK ,Poland, Bulgaria, Romania and Germany.

Working together, this international group of professional artists will create a performance in each country. Each performance will provide the opportunity for 50 disabled and disadvantaged children and young people to work with artists in a unique partnership of possibility.

This project is led by experienced UK community theatre organisation Parrabbola  who have recently completed successful community productions of Shakespeare’s Winter’s Tale in Ostrava and Gdansk.

The original idea for the project comes from highly respected inclusive theatre company Actability  who have been creating touring theatre with disabled performers since 2005 and have worked with disabled and disadvantaged children in Bulgaria recently.

The other partners in this project are Teatr Grodzki , based in Bielsko Biala in Poland who are a social enterprise organisation creating employment opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged people which supports high quality arts activity. From Germany we welcome RotherProductions, who specialise in creating theatre, art and dance in creative and educational settings.  Following Actability’s work in Ruse, Bulgaria we are pleased to be working with Kamila Theatre.  a performing arts and community theatre group run by the  theatre maker and poet  Iliya Devedzhiev.

This project will create a major new network of artists specifically related to disability and organisations exchanging ideas and practice. This will lead to greatly increased opportunities for disabled people to become involved in some truly excellent projects and should they wish it , to become performing artists in their own right.

We seek partners with commitment and vision to be part of this exciting and ground breaking project.

Please note. Level of commitment  information

The project will run through 2013 and early 2014, and will include 7 week long sessions – an initial training week, five activity weeks working in the countries of the 5 national partners, and a final evaluation and promotional conference in the UK. Organisations would need to commit and participate in all of these weeks.

Please send your expression of interes to Paul Bamlett, Artistic Director Actability Inclusive Theatre Company, no later than 12 September 2012.
